I originally started thinking of this piece last year but couldnt wrap my brain around all the emotion and anger I felt for the young. When I turned on the news that first day and heard about the Trayvon Martin murder I was devastated I could believe my eyes let along my ears. I was so frustrated and fulled with anger that I had to paint a piece to speak my mind. Althoughthey kept protraying this young man as negative I wanted to paint a picture that spoke for him and any other youths. It shows the positive things about the youth on his face that me may noy see but they are there. I also wanted to encourage the youth to contunue to strive for the best and do t let anything stand in your way. Don't be a stereotyped.

Black is

Black is a painting I thought about a few days ago. I truely surprised myself with this one. I sat down and thought about all the negativity society has associated with black so I decided to make a voice and relate my painting to black is all the things we knew we could be... black is positive!

We fit together

This painting made me think of all nationalities coming together and being as one.

This piece I painted thinking of records and windows. Things that make me happy thats music and observing life. I see happiness, love and peace when I look out the window.

I painted this one with bold colors and of course outlines. This painting is making a statement. It says im fearless and full of life. No one can stop me from doing what I do. Love me for me.

I thought about little girls being alone in this world and having no where to go.
